Mochius rolls a 13 +5, for an 18, succeeding!
But Mochius' tenacity convinces them to slow down a bit. Looking up from where she is stirring a pot over the fire, one of Mochius' companions, the party wizard, waves her over. "Let me see those plants of yours," she purrs, reaching out a paw to accept the plants.
The wizard sniffs the plants carefully, thinking for a moment. "Hmmm, quite interesting..." she says, before tearing a small leaf off the plants, tasting it. "Just as I suspected, these are Shell Ferns! A very useful plant, drinking a potion made using these will make a Snailcat's Shell tougher, for a time. If you'd like I can brew us up some potions with these, it may be helpful if we have to fight later on."
Mochius wriggles excitedly when the wizard finally acknowledges her. It doesn't take long for her to explain what the plants are, and Mochius' eyes widen. "Shell Ferns! Of course!" She'd read about them at some point, but had totally forgotten. She is awed by the wizard's ability to identify the plant, and is suddenly aware of how much she still had to learn. It was terrifying, but also sort of exciting!
"Yes, please!" Mochius beams. "Actually, I'd love to help, if you don't mind? I might not be the most knowledgeable about magic, but I would love to learn everything I can!"
Thinking quickly, Mochius rolls for Nose, hoping to show the wizard that she could be of assistance.
The wizard turns back to her pot over the fire for a moment, grabbing some powder from her bag and adding it into the pot...
Mochius rolls an 18 +3, for a 21, succeeding!
"Sure, I'd appreciate some help!" she replies, handing Mochius a spoon, "Stir that for a few minutes please! I'll chop up these Shell Ferns and we'll get them in the pot!" Working together, they are able to brew up some very useful potions!
