6. As you head down this hallway, it starts getting darker and darker, until you find yourself in complete darkness. How does your character continue on?
As Maddie is walking down the hallway, they don't notice anything strange at first. But suddenly, as if some invisible torch had been blown out, everything turns dark. Maddie startles, stopping dead in their tracks. Shaking the slightly uneasy feeling creeping over them, they resist the urge to look behind them and instead reach into their trusty backpack. They manage to procure the pack of matches they brought to light their candies with, but it's - empty?! Ah, dammit. They must have used the last match distracting that owlbear... another solution than.
Maddie cautiously reaches out a paw, and, after flailing around for a bit, manages to find one of the walls. Sighing, they resign themself to slowly feeling along it until they find some way out.
Maddie rolls a 17 +3, for a total of 20, succeeding!
Even with the oppressive darkness around them, Maddie feels reassured with the cool stone of the wall under their paw. They march forward, trying their best to perhaps use their other senses to try and navigate. The stone wall is smooth, no breaks or gaps, so Maddie is able to keep close to it.
Maddie uses her nose, literally, to sniff the air in the hallway, hoping to sniff out any indication of anything. There's a slight scent of fire in the air, though they can't see its glow yet. Maddie follows the smell, and uses their sense of touch, finding a small handle on the wall, close to the smell of fire! They open the handle, and light streams in as an exit is found!
