Raine had finally come to the castle, and remembered what the Tavern Keeper had mentioned.
"So maybe those old stone walls hold some secrets.... that's what he mentioned." Raine thought.
She starts to sneak around the edges of the structure, looking for a way to get in. "My skills of perception could be a bit improved... maybe I could try and observe what another group is doing?" she grinned.
There was a group of Pupps and Catsnails seemingly investigating in a way similar to her own methods, but she heard a cheer from their direction. "Hmm..."
Raine decides to roll using her Tail stat to wave a friendly hello and a greeting, to try and get in on the other group's success without scaring them off.
With other groups sniffling around the castle, certainly someone will be willing to share in their success...
Raine rolls an 16 +3, for a 19, succeeding!
Raine sidles up to a particularly friendly looking group of adventurers, joining on on their cheering. After a moment, they peer over at Raine, but she's quick enough on her feet, and charismatic enough to start chatting with them. Even though there's treasure to be had, this group seems like they're happy enough with the thrill of adventure, and they share their find with Raine.
The groups wizard gestures at some runes that they found inscribed on one of the stones, they're nothing like Raine has ever seen, but the wizard even starts explaining them, "The runes say there's a tunnel inside just beyond the tree line, hidden in a hollow tree!
"Hmmm... a tunnel you say? Seems I may be able to take a peek around!" Raine says aloud. She thinks to herself that she shouldn't get too cozy with this group... but she finds herself oddly chipper with this group. Perhaps it is because they welcomed her so honestly and earnestly that she felt it fair deed to help them move forward in return.
She starts peeking around beyond the tree line, looking for hollow trees- even though she wishes she could use her paws for something, she rolls using her Nose stat to see if her skills of perception are up for the task at hand today.
As Raine makes her way to the tree line, the forest is crowded with plants...
Raine rolls a 15 +0, for a total of 15, succeeding!
But the hollow tree sticks out like a sore thumb, and Raine is able to spot the dead tree easily, making her way over to it. The tree itself is dotted with mushrooms, and a fair amount of leaves and loam has accumulated inside the hollow of the tree, but Raine is able to make quick work digging through it.
As Raine is digging, she hears the other party she had talked to previously approaching, giving her the chance to either share her find or hide it away...
Raine pauses for a moment while excavating her find- "Decision time." She thought. She weighed in how much treasure there could be at the end of this tunnel, and the general attitudes of the party that aided her.
"I think there's enough here to share." she thought to herself. And yelled over at the group that she had found the location. They called back- and rushed into her spot, the many paws digging out the tunnel entrance swiftly and surely.
She is granted permission to be the first to enter this rather small tunnel, and certainly enough, she's a bit unsteady on her paws. She rolls using her Paws stat to ensure a steady landing into the larger tunnel (and not slip/collapse on herself!)
